The Secret Banker's view
Investec's website refused my reader and then admitted a browser, so this page is a day younger than the rest. The terms are plain once inside: minimum yearly earnings of £300k, minimum net worth of £3m, UK resident. The Private Bank Account costs £10 a month, waived for clients who also hold an account with Investec South Africa, the only loyalty scheme I have seen that requires a second continent. Overdrafts, arranged or not, run at 8.00% above Bank Rate; card spending abroad costs 2% outside the countries on its list. No management or advice rate appears; the investment side sits with Rathbones, its partner.
